How we collect, use and protect personal data under the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), and how to exercise your rights.

Personal data and KVKK

This notice explains how the Company, as data controller, processes personal data submitted through this website, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and its secondary legislation.

Data controller

The data controller is User Danışmanlık Anonim Şirketi, trading as User Corporation, Istanbul, Turkey. Data protection enquiries may be sent to info@user.com.tr.

Personal data we process

Identity and contactName, company, email address and telephone number provided in the contact form.
Enquiry contentThe message you write and any information you choose to include in it.
Technical dataBasic server logs, such as IP address, browser type and access time, generated automatically for security and operation of the site. Web fonts are delivered by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads. With your consent, analytics data collected through cookies (see below).

How data is collected

Data is collected electronically when you complete the contact form or send an email to the Company. Technical data is collected automatically when you visit the site.

Purposes and legal bases

Responding to enquiriesProcessing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and for the Company’s legitimate interests (KVKK Art. 5/2).
Business communication and record keepingLegitimate interests of the Company, provided your fundamental rights are not harmed, and compliance with legal obligations.
Site securityLegitimate interests in protecting the website and its users against misuse.

Recipients and transfers

Personal data is not sold. It may be shared with service providers that support our hosting, communications, web fonts and IT systems, with professional advisers bound by confidentiality, and with public authorities where required by law. Where a recipient is located abroad, transfers are made in accordance with Article 9 of the KVKK.

Retention

Data is kept only for as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then deleted, destroyed or anonymised. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are generally retained for a limited period for follow-up and record keeping.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss and misuse, including access controls and confidentiality undertakings. Please avoid including sensitive or highly confidential transaction details in your first message; we will agree a secure channel for these.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK you may:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed and request information about it;
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used accordingly;
  • know the third parties to whom data is transferred in Turkey or abroad;
  • request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data;
  • request deletion or destruction of data under the conditions set out in the KVKK;
  • object to a result against you arising from exclusively automated processing;
  • claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

To exercise these rights, send a written request to info@user.com.tr with enough information to identify you. We will respond as soon as possible and in any case within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board.

Data controllers registry (VERBİS)

Where required under the KVKK, the Company is registered with the Data Controllers Registry Information System (VERBİS) maintained by the Personal Data Protection Authority, and keeps its registration and inventory up to date. Registration details are available on request.

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. This website uses strictly necessary cookies, and, only with your consent, analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies.

Your cookie choices

When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether you accept or reject analytics cookies. Both options are equally available, and analytics cookies are not set unless you accept. Rejecting them does not affect your use of the site.

Analytics provider

Analytics cookies are provided by a third-party analytics service acting on our behalf. Where that provider processes data outside Turkey, the transfer takes place in accordance with Article 9 of the KVKK. The name of the provider and the cookies it sets are listed here once the service is in use.
